Finding Motivation and Encouragement in our Passions
Passion. We read about it, talk about it, think about it. Sometimes we feel it and sometimes we don’t. Like on Monday mornings when it frequently seems our greatest (perhaps only) passion is staying in our warm, cozy beds. However, as Edmond Mbiaka says, passion does not depend on the day of the week or time of day. It is the constant fire inside that motivates, encourages, and focuses you in pursuit of your dreams.
Here are a few things I am passionate about:
Curiosity. Daily learning, experimentation, and growth. Right now I am learning about the Enneagram (to be discussed in upcoming posts)
Relationships. Whether it's my relationship with my husband, best friends, family, or mentees, I am passionate about building relationships, learning and growing, celebrating similarities and differences, and championing other's dreams and successes.
Helping. I get lit up inside by helping people, especially when it's helping others overcome challenges. It's a gift and privilege to step into another's journey and help them progress.
Creating. One of my favorite things to do is to create - cooking a soul-satisfying, healthy meal; drawing a picture of a sight I saw on my morning run; creating a solution to a problem. Creativity and creation.
Your turn! What are you passionate about?
